School Codes

Why do we use codes?

Although none of the data we hold or process is either sensitive personal private data or personal data (it is not possible to identify respondents from our data) we take data protection very seriously.

For this reason we always insist that any identifying class or school data returned to a user (i.e. Teacher or School) is sent upon request, either manually via email or automatically by logging into our website.

Therefore all uses (i.e. Teacher or School) require a unique identifier, something a child will be able to easily remember. As every school in England and Wales have an allocated LEA code (Local Education Authority) and School ID code this has proven a convenient way of applying a unique ID.

How do you get a code?

If you wish to take part in any of our questionnaires your class will need both a 3 digit LEA code and a 4 digit School ID code. If you do not know your LEA and School ID or you do not have one (e.g. your school is outside of the UK) please contact us and will allocate you codes.
